Andrejs Erglis is Chief of Latvian Centre of Cardiology at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital (Riga, Latvia), Professor and Director of Institute of Cardiology and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Latvia.
He is currently the President of Latvian Society of Cardiology and the Vice-President of Latvian Academy of Sciences, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology.

He obtained his medical degree from Riga Medical Institute in 1989, PhD from the University of Latvia in 2006. He continued his training in interventional cardiology in USA, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany and France.

He is the author or co-author of more than 400 peer-reviewed articles. His major fields of scientific interest are interventional cardiology, regenerative medicine, precision medicine and epidemiology of cardiovascular disease.
