Fang-Lin Lu, M.D, Ph.D. is a Professor and Vice Director of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Changhai Hospital, Second Military Medical University (SMMU).
He is also a Committee member of Chinese Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeon and a Member of the Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons of Asia.
Previously, Prof. Lu worked as a Consultant Surgeon, Clinical instructor Staff Surgeon, and most recently as a Clinical Staff Surgeon at the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Changhai Hospital, SMMU. He was also a Research fellow at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of Kyoto University Hospital in Japan.
From 2006, Prof. Lu independently performs about 300 cases of open heart operations annually, including the following issues:
- Congenital heart disease: Definitive operation for ASD, VSD and TOF.
- Acquired heart disease: valvular and aortic surgery.
Before 2004, Prof. Lu independently performed 100 cases of general thoracic diseases every year.
From 2017, he independently performs TAVR, TMVr, and TTVr.
