Ran Nir-Paz MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the department of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the Hadassah Hebrew University Medical Center.
At the beginning of the pandemic he was sent by the Israeli Ministry of Health to evaluate the COVID19 Israeli cases at the Diamond Princess outbreak in Japan. Up[on his return he took an active role in the treatment of COVID19 cases at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. He took part as a PI or Local PI for a few treatment studies.
Prof. Nir-Paz is also serving in the Hebrew University teams on disease spread and pediatric COVID19 that publishes opinion and situation reports to stakeholders in Israel.
Apart from this COVID19 efforts, Prof. Nir-Paz heads both the ESCMID and IOM study groups for Mycoplasma infections, and also serves as a local Israeli leader on the field of bacteriophage therapy for resistant bacterial infections.
